The Problem.

The FDA requires that medical device manufacturers keep records and be able to produce reports on the location and status of devices from manufacturing to implant and ultimately removal from patients.

Our client was replacing their over 20-year-old desktop application with a web application, and we are tasked with applying design thinking principles to create the next generation of device tracking software.

The Process.

The design process began with a user survey, followed by design thinking workshops with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand the current application and gain insights on user needs and expectations.

We then created user personas, an ecosystem map to understand the connected systems, touch points and outputs then we tested our initial designs with stakeholders using a low-fi prototype.

The Solution.

After research and testing we were able to rework the app's information architecture, create page templates and, in collaboration with our visual designer, create high fidelity mockups, and finalize a new design system.
